This writer feels a strong need, to preserve with military guardedness, the sanctity of the Apostolic doctrine. Others may, but we cannot, cast away with insensitive feelings the world’s only saving message. The mad rush to be accepted in the present flow of the so-called Christian community will and is resulting in the erosion of holiness of flesh and spirit.
The outlandish fuzzy headed perm hair styles of women and the over borderline hair styles of men are only blaring indicators of spirits deep within. The all-too-common rationale is to compare degrees of wrongness with others. Perhaps this is a negative observation but please tell me why any Apostolic saint would want to follow (without any question) designs and fashions suggesting a “worldly look alike?” If someone doesn’t speak out our churches will look like punk rock gatherings, style shows, and seduction parties!
This writer is not the first to observe some rebellious believers among the saints. Jude said: “Likewise also these filthy dreamers (rationalists) defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities… But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, (humanism) as brute beasts. Then hold your tongue and let the ministry preach the BOOK!
The preaching of absolutes has nearly become obsolete. ABSOLUTES are gasping for viability while SHADOWS, SHADES, and SHAMS flourish. The uncommonness in preaching anything absolute, even the doctrine, is a result of drifting from the truth and exalting our own ego. Some may heatedly deny the term Pentecostal Baptist, but in reality, this is what some believe: Once saved always saved.
The preaching of absolutes has nearly become obsolete. ABSOLUTES are gasping for viability while SHADOWS, SHADES, and SHAMS flourish.
The heralded message today is: Do what you want to do but keep a good spirit. Any child will momentarily express love for a parent to get his own way, but in the end the child will hate and despise the parent or parents for not giving moral guidance.
Just a few questions that demand answers:
- How much worldliness can a saint absorb?
- How much charismatic preaching can a church absorb?
- How much mingling with lukewarm hybrid Pentecostals can you absorb?
- How much “power of positive thinking” can your mind receive without the balance of the “power of negative thinking”?
- Are there Ten Commandments or Ten Suggestions?
No doubt some of my readers have the wisdom to mix and match worldliness and holiness. You have the keen ability to separate holiness in the heart with an immodestly dressed appearance. After all, “holiness is in the heart”, isn’t it? Yes, we all should agree this is where it begins. BUT IT DOES NOT END THERE. THE OUTSIDE WILL MATCH THE INSIDE.
If you have the ability to mix righteousness and unrighteousness, godliness and worldliness, and light with darkness, you are greater than God, and that, my dear friends, opens another can of worms we do not have time or space to discuss. Good day!
